Slips and trips are one of the most common causes of injury in UK workplaces, public spaces, and outdoor pedestrian areas. The consequences can be serious – both for people’s wellbeing and your legal responsibilities.
At Border Floor Ltd, we offer professional SlipAlert™ testing to assess slip risks on both indoor and outdoor floors. We’re NEBOSH-qualified, and we operate across the UK, with flexible appointments wherever you’re based.
Why Floor Slip Testing Matters
- Helps meet your health & safety obligations
- Provides measurable proof of floor safety compliance
- Detects early signs of wear or contamination – even outside
- Reduces the risk of accidents, claims and downtime
From factory floors to outdoor walkways, we test real-world surfaces in the conditions your visitors experience them.

How It Works: SlipAlert™ vs. Pendulum Testing
Our system complies with BS8204, measuring the coefficient of friction (CoF) — a key factor in floor safety. It’s designed to simulate a real heel strike, mimicking human movement more closely than traditional pendulum testers.
SlipAlert™ works on all surface types – smooth concrete, tiles, wood, vinyl, resin, stone – indoors or out.
